| BIG NEWS! - a little old, too - but BIG NEWS! It is happening! In late 2007, I corresponded with Mr. Russell Galen, Ms. Gabaldon's literary agent, and at that time, Mr. Galen shared that a writer had been found to adapt the first book into a screenplay. In late October 2008, this news became more detailed and fully public: Mr. Randall Wallace, screenwriter for Braveheart, is "translating" Ms. Gabaldon's novel for Essential Pictures, the newly-launched production arm of Essential Entertainment, a distribution company. According to other industry sources, the company is now looking for a director to helm the film, and a release is tentatively scheduled for 2011. To anyone reading this, you very likely know how strongly I feel about these books and about getting the chance to play Claire, the series' heroine (if you don't, read on below!)...and if any one of you have even the vaguest link to Essential Entertainment/Pictures, please allow me to make grateful use of that connection!

For my birthday in December 2004, my sister Allison gave me the novel Outlander, by Ms. Diana Gabaldon, having enthusiastically recommended it to me years earlier. We've both always been avid readers, with varied interests, impartial to genre and so on. But I unwrapped Outlander, and, honestly, my first thought was "Oh, great - a book. A book I know Alli likes, too, so I'll feel pressured to like it as well!" That thought crossed my mind on the Friday night of my birthday dinner. By Sunday night, I'd read the novel twice through and was beginning on a third round. Anybody who's enjoyed anything by Diana is extremely familiar with this Gabaldon-induced phenomenon! Over four years have passed since that weekend, and in that time, hardly a day has gone by that I haven't been reading through the entire series again...and again and again...and again, etc. At this point, I know these books as thoroughly - and they are as dear to me - as those I've read and loved since childhood: Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House series and C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia. In that same four-year period, I have also continued to develop my career. A wealth of positive experiences onstage, on-camera and in the recording booth has sharpened my skills, enriched my talents and focused my goals. The passion I have for my career has fused with my zeal for those novels. I dedicate little chunks of daily time to the strategic pursuit of what will doubtless be a highly-coveted role in the it-is-actually-happening! screen adaptation of the Outlander series: Claire. The photographs on this page are just one element of what I consider an ardent - and relentless - campaign to win that role.
Je suis prest.
